LMAO that they would only get paid for 12 months work per year instead of 14. Welcome to the real world.

Not happy that ~$8B is coming from the USA.

Do these people not understand that money doesn't grow on trees? What are they protesting about?

Such is modern society. Modern lavishes paid for by fake wealth. When the pyramid schemes come crashing down, so too does civility. Violence is their answer.

Well damn it, I originally thought the Eurozone was going to deal with this problem themselves, looks like I was wrong...

Me too. I thought that was part of the point of the European Union? At least they are being gracious about accepting the money....

the EU helps them, but the IMF too.

The point of EU is not bailing out states.

NATO should kick Greece out and invade it. Let Turkey take half and the rest of the EU take half. Worthless welfare scums.

I expect a violence surge against Greeks who are in other European countries and speak of not willing to repay anything. There is now an increase in anti-Greek sentiment in the other countries. It is not the civilized way, but a lot of people are getting tired seeing their pensions and saving disappearing...

So when CA gets a bailout, we can "officially" dislike them for their spending habits?

If I was a German tax payer, I would be beyond pissed off about this.
the problem is that Greece owes money to Portugal who owes money to Spain who owes money to France/Germany.

the real interesting thing is going to be what happens after the next Greek elections. mark my words, someone will run on a campaign of restoring the welfare state and will win in a landslide. the cuts that Greece is going to have to make, considering that they can't export their way out of their recession thanks to the euro, are the kind of cuts that politicians get (rightly or wrongly) thrown out on their ass for.

what are the odds on Greece abandoning the euro to avoid a deflation spiral?

did anyone read that NYT article about tax evasion in Greece? it was hilarious... apparently they're just now passing a law that mandates merchants using receipts. hah. something like a hundred pools were reported on property tax forms in a district that has thousands of them.

Let me make perfectly clear that i am not promoting violence against Greeks. It is mere in human nature. When life gets worse, humans regress to a more violent animal state. A self protect mechanism. Less altruism, more "me first". It is the natural way of nature. Humans are kind of beyond that typical behaviour because of the social structures. Take the social structures away...

Didn't think you were but I agree with your assessment. If CA gets bailed out for the same stupid financial decisions, I expect the other 49 to be real pissed. I may hire a crew of illegals to use pry bars on the San Andreas.

True. It is one corrupt scheme their. Work for 5 days. That means on paper working 2 days and paying only taxes for 2 days. A friend of mine knows Greece very well. The things happening there... And the fun part is, it is tax paradise for millionaires from countries like the Netherlands, Germany,France, the UK... Makes one wonder...

Although it warms our hearts, mine certainly, to see greedy people that the easy times are coming to an end this merely shows what's going to happen in more countries, ultimately the US being one of them, although if things are not left to the last minute here like in Greece much of the come-to-Jesus can be hid in various ways. Greece just held on to long and it became impossible to kid any longer.

Is it wise to write that on a forum ?

P.S.

I like my edited version more :)

Oh, and looking at the riot pics like a cop set aflame I have to point out the irony of angry Greeks pissed off at their government even though that very same government is what gives them what they want. So in a way they hate the government but in another absolutely love it since 1/3rd of greece is employed by the gov. Talk about unsustainable.

Foreigner asking a Greek government employee : How did you get your job ?

The Greek government employee started answering :
The brother of the son of the father of the nephew of the sister in law of the uncle of the neigbour of the baker...
