So why does Schumacher consistently whup Barrichello who's in an identical car?!
And Schumacher won the championship twice with the Benetton team.

he only won it once, and that win could be considered debatable (his run-in into Damon HIll in the last race).

bR: hahah Alex Yoong...hahahah

No, he won it twice with Benetton and then 5 more times with Ferrari.

Yes because we all know Ferraris were so successful before Schumacher came which explains why they couldn't win a Championship since 1979. That can only mean that they have been intentionally losing for 21 years.

what makes you think this response counters Baked's post? hahaha

*sarcasm* 😕

it seems like a lot of people like to discredit schumacher BECAUSE the Ferrari has been the best car of the field since ~2000+

people forget that it wouldn't be that way if schumacher hadn't gone on board, and the fact that he had incredible drives in the sh*tty 1996 Ferrari F310, the 1997 Ferrari F310B (despite the bonehead move at Jerez), and the 1998 Ferrari F300... watch Hungary 1998 if anyone needs proof.

his first ferrari test at estoril in the 1995 Ferrari F412T2 proved that he can do what berger and alesi couldn't in the same car.

that being said, if Schumacher had gone to McLaren, I wouldn't doubt for a second that they would be steamrolling the competition like Ferrari is now.

your right. I should have double-checked, I always remember the 94 WDC but not the 95.

I'll be the first to say it, Shumacher

Yes. I don't know enough about many of the older drivers, and from growing up watching autosports he has dominated in a way unprecedented.

I am the best driver of all time but i never got the chance to prove it on the track..
The second best is racer x. he could always keep up with speed without all those buttons..

Have to go with Shumacher even though I never root for him, but he is an awsome driver there is no doubt about that

Jerry
Jerry was a race car driver
And he drove so goddamned fast
He never did win no checkered flag
But he never did come in last
Jerry was a race car driver
He'd say "El solo number one"
With a bocephus sticker
On his 442 he'd light 'em up
Just for fun

I can't believe no one has mentioned AJ Foyt.

He could drive anything and won while doing it. You name it, Indy cars, Nascar, Sprints, Midgets, Silver Crown, etc. He did it on dirt and asphalt, it didn't matter to him.

He won all the big races when they didn't have technology to help the driver out. He drove by sheer skill and being able to know exactly what to do to compensate for an ill handling car, not to mention on tires that had poor grip. He also outlived many of his competitors who died while racing when it was a much more deadly sport that it is now.

No contest, the old racers had more talent than what is required now.
