tbh, his movements dont even look particularly clean.

Other than the airsoft BB, it really wasn't that impressive. Anyone who has split a lot of firewood can hit the same spot within a fraction of an inch time after time with an axe. He essentially did the same thing - with something easier to swing, and sideways instead of vertically.
