you guys are gonna make me wanna play FF7 again, and I've got so many other NEW games to play. Jerks.

Me and a couple of friends have got back into FF7 (almost). We're just waiting for copies to be shipped from Singapore (not too easy to get in the UK).
Meanwhile, the OST has tided us over 🙂

FF7 for best ending? That plot hole ridden ending caused more confused gamers than any other ending history. People asking WTF they just watched and how it pertained, if it all, to the story.

I'd say the NOLF ending was pretty badass. Or maybe it was the NOLF 2 ending. One of them had a movie-esque ending that was completely perfect.

There are so many good intros that I'd have to go back and watch some before I actually choose. Tons of games, even crappy ones, come with amazing intros just to hype you up.

A really good intro just popped into my head: Suikoden 3, complete with amazing music.

Does cinematics mean just how pretty they were? If so mine are probably pretty wrong, I just picked the best I could think of :/. Suikoden 3 was an anime intro (does that count as cinematics?) and NOLF ending was in-game graphics (no cgi / cutscene).

Have you guys seen the intro vid for the war40k: Dawn of War demo?

It's seriously one of the coolest game vids I've seen and I keep watching it over and over.

OMG! This just in, People are different!

...its all opinions, man. If I liked FFVII and thought it was the best cinematic ending to a game, then its my call. No need to bash us just because you dont agree.

the human ending of starcraft brood war was the most moving ending ive ever seen, as dugalle puts on the record and blows his brains out as the humans get wiped out. OH THE HUMANITY

I didn't bash you, I simply questioned the majority. Although I'm still not sure if people voted FF7 simply because square has pretty FMV sequences or because the ending actually made sense. Depending on that is whether I agree or disagree. Am I not allowed to comment on other peoples posts? I thought that was the point of creating a topic like this.

What about you guys?

I really liked the Intro FMV for Freelancer. Even though it had nothing to do with the game at all.

The FMVs for Freespace 1 and 2 were both excelently done and contributed much to thestory. These are in addition to some other great FMVs listed elsewhere. 🙂

It looks really good. Too bad the in game FMV (in the demo anyway) is total garbage. I keep visualizing some weirdo orc machine creature droing on about the "humies" Ugh. 😉

I cant remember Freelancers but Freespaces FMV wasnt impressive imo. Yes it provided some very horrendous pieces of information to the story but it wasnt great. Horrendous because they raised so many questions that will probably never be answered as I havent heard of a Freespace 3 in the works.

The most immersive FMV using the in-game engine has to be Homeworld. When you hyperspace back to Kharak to find it obliterated.... Samuel Barbers Adagio for Strings and the way the voice acting was done just makes you feel like you just lost your home planet. Really gripping, especially in such an excellent game.

I'm doubtful I get many second votes from you guys, but the rather modest intro to 'IcewindDale2' puts goosebumbs all over me every time.

Edit: And I almost forgot, The intro to 'Planescape Torment' was very impressive too.
(The game wasn't really for me, though much appreciated by my RPG gaming friends.)
