Are you saying Hakeem wasn't as good because he was smaller in size? If anything that should prove he was better. And the other big guys do look funny running and shooting jumpers. Shaq doesn't look as awkward I guess when running but we'll never find out about his shooting cause he never does.

Tough question:

Most talented? Arvydas Sabonis in his prime. 7'3" 280 lbs. He could run with the ball, pass like a point guard, post-up anyone, and shoot from anywhere on the floor including downtown. Unfortunately, he spent his prime years in Europe (where he led the Real Madrid to a European Championship and averaged 20.3 points per game and 12.2 rebounds per game) and his career has been constantly plagued by serious injuries. Ah well, he's a "could-have-been-that-wasn't."

Most Celebrated? Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. His statistics are staggering, spanning a long and relatively healthy (for a center) career.

Most Dominating? Wilt Chamberlain. He's tied with Jordan for the highest points per game average of all time - 30.1 points per game.

Most Valuable? Bill Russell. He has more rings than fingers (11 rings!) and averaged 22.5 rebounds per game. From his nba.com bio: "He had 51 boards in one game, 49 in two others and a dozen consecutive seasons of 1,000 or more rebounds.... His many individual accolades were well deserved, but they were only products of Russell's philosophy of team play. His greatest accomplishment was bringing the storied Celtics 11 championships in his 13 seasons. Until the ascent of Michael Jordan in the 1980s, Russell was acclaimed by many as the greatest player in the history of the NBA."

well, its clear you don't like Shaq, but again, why should he shoot fade-away shots like Hakeem did, when he doesn't have to?

I'm not saying Hakeen wasn't good because he was smaller, I'm just saying he wasn't as dominant, period, size having nothing to do with it..the only reason I made the size comparison is that Shaq is very athletic for his size, which is much bigger than Hakeem.

We can make the enforcement of basketball rules at the NCAA division 1 level and the NBA a whole new thread....

My primary thought watching the NCAA championship game this year was that the McNamara kid on Syracuse ,who was lighting it up from 3pt range, is the WORST carrying-the-ball dribbler I have ever seen..even when he wasn't guarded closely he was turning the ball over like he was trying to do it on purpose....it was literally making me angry!

Shaq gets fouled and it isn't called much more than he commits offensive fouls that aren't called, and he does that fairly often too.
