Led Zeppelin. Even though I favor techno, you cannot deny the quality of Zeppelin's music.

And the Chemical Brothers. Dig Your Own Hole is amazing.

I think Zeppelin is the top no matter what. Their music is still more versatile than any band before or since.
The rest, in no particular order:
The Who
The Stones
The Beatles
Van Halen....the greatest guitar player ever,(at least that is still alive) and the greatest post-Zeppelin rock band.
Aerosmith...a close second to Van Halen as greatest American band.
Pink Floyd...legendary live shows.
Queen
Clapton-particularly the old Cream-era stuff.
Elvis-the King
Hendrix

the newer bands on the lists can't compare to the classics.
Yeah, I guess Michael Jackson shouldn't be on there.

I would have to say that the bands that I think are the greatest, are those who were the most impressionable.

Therefore:

1. Chuck Berry
2. The Beatles
3. The Rolling Stones
4. Led Zeppelin
5. ELO
6. Cream
7. The Sex Pistols
8. The Clash
9. Pop Will Eat Itself
10. Nirvana

Was wondering if I was going to see them listed (VH)

Though I do think Haggar had a few okay ones with em but I agree DLR was the best.
