Greater performance out of your video card when playing Crysis if you install Vista SP1 or Windows XP SP3

Do you really get more fps and better performance from your video card in Crysis?

Highly unlikely...video card performance is usually tied directly to video card drivers.

However, there are a few beta testers claiming a somewhat significant system performance increase with SP3.

General opinion around the 'net so far is that there was very little performance increase in SP1, so I'm not sure why you're asking if a perf increase is true...

However, neither service pack has been finished, and perf is usually one of the last things coded up for both operating systems and service packs. So there is no way to answer your question at this time.

It's possible with Vista SP1 if Microsoft have included performance hotfixes.

It's highly unlikely with SP3 since XP game performance been optimal since release as far as the OS goes.

for crysis in particular if you want to gain 20 fps and keep your eyecandy, just edit some cvars...
