Could you recommend me some great trance, techno, house, or rave albums? I'm sick and tired of listening to radio stations, instead I want to play some music on my cd player during a long drive or just relaxing at home. Thank you for your kind recommendations.

there's an awesome hard trance session floating around the net, it's called roll.mp3 by a dj known as Juice, here's the tracklising in case you can't find his session:

1. Megamind - "Taub" (2002 Mix)
2. Pale-X - "Modifier" (After Dark Mix)
3. Mark Norman - "Intimate Gestures"
4. Ultra - "Metro" (Original Club Mix)
5. Joy Kitikonti - "Joydontstop" (BK Remix)
6. P.G.L. - "XTC"
7. Espuma - "Reality (In My Brain)" (Dj Rayden Mix)
8. Sound of Overdose - "City to City" (DJ Scot Project Remix)
9. DJ Session One pres. DJ Virus - "Future Shock" (Blutonium Boy Remix)
10. Katana - "Alesis"
11. Three Drives - "Carrera 2" (Nu NRG Remix)
12. K90 - "Chemical Love" (Wavestorm Remix)

some other tracks, CDs and sessions i'm a big fan of:

voodoo & serrano - Blood is Pumping
bedrock - heaven scent
Cosmic Gate - Exploration of Space
Ayla's Nirwana album <-- this gets me into very chill mode...it's very mello
PVD's Global album
DJ Onyx's Elevate session
DJ Shahzad Impulse session Volume 1
any volume of Tunnel Trance Force...i think they're up to Vol. 23...

Oakenfold has some decent stuff, but he's become something of the McDonald's of trance. ;)

If you want trance, you want the father of contemporary trance... Paul Oakenfold.

MANY people say he's getting old, that's because he's been around so long and released so many mixes that are incredible that he's becoming commonplace. Oakenfold is becoming the mainstream trance artist, and that is completely pissing off al the people that wanted to be different by listening to trance in general.

In the end, he's the mainly noticed artist because he's THE BEST.

Proof: Paul Oakenfold - Tranceport (arguably the BEST trance album ever released by any DJ EVER)
More Proof: Paul Oakenfold - Resident 2 Years at Cream (Disk 1) ((Disk 2 sucks ass, Disk 1 is the MAJOR anthems he dropped to make him famous in the UK. Every track on here is a classic!)

Tell me I'm wrong... but you'd better give me proof. The only DJ that even gets anywhere remotely close to being this good in the genre is Mauro Picotto with Tranceformer 2000 (My 3rd pick if you're still looking. (After Oakenfold, definitely the next major DJ on the list)

BTW... Oakenfolds latest release is not a electronica mix... it's him doing his own thing, trying to break into mass music himself. Has some good stuff, but not anywhere near what his old stuff was like. Don't take his latest album as a sign of his earlier stuff... take it as a bad acid trip someone took with a few good points.

okay, I'll bite ;)

Tranceport is arguably one of the best trance albums ever, I'll give you that. However, all his other albums are straight sub par ;) Voyage into trance was pretty good at best, Perfecto Presents Another World is completely worthless (except for taht 12 minute delierium track), some of his live mixes are okay his other ones suck (ie radio1)

If you listened to his first cd's, then listen to his last cd's, he hasn't changed one bit, he still plays the same crap, which is also my problem with Tiesto. Mauro Picotto I could never get into (except for his one anthem komodo ;)).

PvD is pretty good, his older stuff better than his newer (which can be said for most of trance)

Resident 2 Years at Cream (Disk 1) ((Disk 2 sucks ass, Disk 1 is the MAJOR anthems he dropped to make him famous in the UK. Every track on here is a classic!)

See that only works cuz he's a big dj. If anybody else released one disk that was crap, and 1 disk filled with anthems, they'd be laughed at. A disk filled with anthems is good to get you moving, but it doesn't make a good cd

all taht said, here are my recommendations

Christopher Lawrence - Temptation
Christopher Lawrence - Trilogy Pt3
Christopher Lawrence - Around the World
BT - Movement in Still Life
BT - ECSM
Mark Farina - Mixer Presents
Mark Farina - Mushroom Jazz 3
Dj Micro - Tech Mix Live <--- when I feel liek listening to anthems
Dj Sneak - Buggin Da Beats
Dj Sneak - JuJu Beats
Miguel Migs - Nude Tempo 1
