Great Solution for Overcrowded Powerstrips at MicroCenter

If you're like me you have powerstrips plugged into powerstrips to be able to handle all the power requirements for your computer stuff. :D And many times the problem is those %$(*& power brick modules that block some unused plugs.

Well, Micro Center has a killer price on what's commonly called a powerstrip liberator. It's a 10" long Y-type extension cord so it has TWO plugs on the end. You plug this into your powerstrip and it moves the bricks far enough away so you never have an unusable plug again. Plus, with this model you can double up on those bricks and still use only one plug.

Normally these things are $4 or more (even online) but MC is selling them for $1.59!! You can also order them from their web site but their shipping price sucks so it kills the deal.

(probably help if I put in the link I had, huh)

If you're using a UPS with a warranty/guarantee will the use of these void that warranty?

no one would know you had one unless you told them =)
i have 2 of these, works great.
i have a surgemaster with on/off switches for 5 things and a master.
2 ports are using the Y conectors, works great.
another 2 ports of mine use another power strip behind it, damn i got too much electronics. They should also have the single extensions. They are 1ft long extensions so powerbricks dont take up all the space on a suge protector.

Anyone know of a better deal on 10 shipped? I need 10, and shipping doubles the price. 10 comes out to $30.80....

I bought this last week for my TV and it works great. Since the plugs are in weird places, you can put a lot of bricks and not have it cover any outlets. It was an excellent additon to my UPS since it only has space for 2 bricks. The other "bricked" peripherals aren't worthy to be on battery... :)

Kevin: your link doesn't work.

Anyone found a better deal on a dozen of these, including shipping?

Thanks.

I bought this Y adapter the last time I visited my local Microcenter, just so I would not leave empty-handed. The cable is very thick (asume the wires are, too). A very useful product; good value.

Yeah, I think I saw these but I felt the problem with them might be that the outlets are too close together. So you'd get one power brick on there and there might not be room to plug something into the other two outlets.

For those of you who don't have a MC nearby:

Available online here for $2.99, $2.79 for 10 or more.

Single plug ones (without the 'Y') here for $1.79, $1.65 for 10 or more.

EDIT: oops, didn't notice the MC link in the first post. They're cheaper at MC Online.
