Anyone have any suggestions? I hate going off tourism sites.. Feel like a lemming. 🙂

And are beaches open this time of year?? Kids would love that..

Do a quick check to see if there is a jelly fish infestation wherever you're going. I went to Corpus Christi a few years ago and the waters were full of jelly fish so nobody could swim without getting stung. We ended up going to South Padre and the waters were fine there.

Thanks Leros, never heard of such a thing! So is it early enough in the season to swim on a beach??? I'm a northerner and have no idea..

South Padre Island is about the only nice beach in Texas. The rest of it is either polluted, muddy, full of jellyfish or a combination of the three.

Yesterday the water temperature off of Corpus Christi was 80. Warm enough.

The temperature outside is plenty warm too. Its a good time to go now, its hot but not too hot to be outside for a long time.

I'd say Padre Island National Seashore or Mustang Island State Park. I know they have websites where you can either check the beach condition's or they provide a # to call to check. Have fun!
