Hey there. I?m planning a Cross Country Trip for me and a couple friends this summer. We plan on doing a lot of camping and Mt Biking. I know some of you do something other then sit on your computer all day and I would like some input on places that we should hit.

We are leaving from the east coast Will hit St Louis Mo to see my sis then its all new to us. We plan on Hitting Moab UT for a bit then trekking to Cali because none of us have been there, Then Possibly going to the Pacific NW. But there is a whole lot of stuff in-between those places and we could use all the suggestions that we can get.

We are going to have like a month total for this trip so bring it on

www.mtbr.com - check on the trail reports they have there. The best in Washington, IMHO, is Galbraith Mtn., in Bellingham, but it's out of the way. If you end up going, contact me, and I'll hook you up with some good places in Bellingham...food, etc. 🙂

Thanks for info. i know and love that site but i was hopin to get info from people themself rather then from a site. but thanks and ill let ya know what up

IMO, Downieville, CA might be the most fun mountain biking venue in the western U.S., though the state of California is talking about banning bicycles there. There are a ton of fun rides in the vicinity of Lake Tahoe as well. Generally I feel the Sierra Nevada offers more fun riding than the Cascades, which tend to be too steep and muddy for my taste (at least on the west side).

Thanks to thoes who have replied. now i wan teh rest of you too also. we need and want as much possible information and as many choices as we can get

I can recommend the Tucson area in Arizona.
Check out this site for maps and trails.
Beautiful desert landscape with trails both for the beginner and advanced rider.

Box Springs Park in Riverside, CA.

Easy ride up hill for 2 miles, a nice singletrack for 5 miles uphill, and a nice very advanced 2 mile downhill. Nice views of the valley, radio towers and the "M" and the "C" painted on the hill.

Oh....very very very true. I'd recommend both, to be honest. Different styles of riding, but both are worth seeing - Bellingham and North Shore. 🙂
