After originally hearing about broadcast flags, I was about ready, like some others, to go out and buy a TV tuner card before the enforcment date. July 1st I think. Even though I can't currently use one, since if I split my cable again to run to a computer, the whole picture will just be crap. Although I have the TV company on thier way over here next week, hopefully they can boost my signal.

But anyways, this means I don't have to hurry to get a new card right. Assuming this stays dead, theres really no hurry to get a card, I coudl wait till the end of the year even? Assuming something else like this doesn't slip through.

Sadly this "victory" didn't come from a moment of sanity from our elected officials after people actually responded to this move to cut off fair use. Instead it is a technical victory from a court saying that a particular agency has no right to impose the regulation. The only hope is that when the inevitable lobbying starts to ram this through congress people will let congress know in no uncertain terms how they feel regarding it.
