I think it's a terrible deal. Most of these plans cost almost $100 per month - there's usually only a tiny window in which they will actually pay off.

It's extremely rare for a reasonably priced dental plan to cover braces or cosmetic work.

I have not heard of any legitimate, self-respecting company that does not offer full benefits. What is this, Wal-Mart? How can the job be attractive?

What world do you live in? Health and dental prices are expensive. Most small companies have a hard time offering anything, and many large companies make you pay a big chunk of the cost.

you're forgetting that most people here work for the top like 5 companies in the world and make a $1,000,000 a year, so they don't have to really worry about it.

To pay out of pocket, dental visits usually run $45-$70 here and for vision, the exams are usually $45. Glasses = $150-$300 Contacts = $150. IMO, medical insurance is the biggy, that you need. Vision and dental, if you have good eyes and good teeth, it's actually more of a waste of money down the road and it's better to pay out of pocket.

That sounds about right, my dental visits would be $60 if I didn't have insurance. Also sounds right on the vision.

If it's a great offer and you don't have lots of family to worry about I would take it. Just budget for the dentist/vision expenses.

While they may not have seperate dental and vision coverage, some health plans actually cover the basics like annual cleanings and eye exams. It might be worth asking them.

Mine is pretty much the same. I think it's $6 a month.

Very common IMO that you only get Med now from most companies. My company is a joke.
