Great I think my JVC D-Series TV may have died

I was out of the room letting my dogs out and heard a weird popping kind of noise and when I went back into the living room my tv screen was blank and my on timer light was on. I've turned it on and off and nothing seems to get rid of it. I don't even use the JVC's remote and have never screwed with the timer so I don't think thats the problem. All the manual says is if the on timer light is blicking to turn off the TV and call for service but mine isn't blinking. Hitting all the buttons, trying to bring up the tv's menus, and nothing happens. I don't think it is powering up the screen at all. If I flip through the channels you can hear the tv pop/make the channel changing sound but thats about it. Damn thing is only 3 years old and is out of warranty, kind of makes me wish I hadn't just blown off the guy at Sears when he tried to sell me the extended warranty 🙂. Its a 32 incher and is to heavy and bulky for me to move off my stand so I can't even pop the back off and look for a blown fuse till I can get somebody to come over and help me.

DAMN'T!

I can relate to that I have an XBR that wasnt coming on till you tapped it on the side.had to have home service done. all the guy did was hold a soldering gun to the board,I hope he replaced something, then 150.00 later it was fixed. Wouldnt have bothered but it is an expensive XBR to replace. No problems since then

Hmm leaving it off for awhile seems to have fixed. Now I just need to see if it keeps working or dies again once it gets warm. Looks like my on timer light has always been on and I just never noticed that thats what it was.
