Great-Grandmother Being Deployed to Iraq

Well, she did volunteer, and while her intentions are admirable, I'm sorry - Iraq is no place for a 72yr. American woman right now. I really hope we don't see her in some hostage video in the future. Good luck Mrs. Haddix!

this is the administration's solution to social security

absolutely...take them off social security and put them to work...

Once the old timer poulaton is used up we'll resort to using kids just like the other Countries we denounce for using kids for Warfare.

LAWTON, Okla. (AP) - A 72-year-old great-grandmother is preparing for deployment to the war zone in Iraq and will become one of the oldest Department of Defense civilian workers in the war zone.

As there are lots of people who don't read linked articles these days, you should have pasted the second paragraph too:
"I volunteered," said Lena Haddix of Lawton, who has five children, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. "I wanted to do something for the country, because I was always left behind taking care of the children."
Not including this leaves you open to lots of spin...And in case anyone wonders what she'll be doing
Ms Haddix will be working for the Department of Defense's Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) which operates shops selling goods to US military personnel on army bases.
