Daggerfall. I totally bought it because of the cool looking shiny box art. I knew nothing about it really before I bought it. As a result I'm hooked on Elder Scrolls games.

Morrowind: GotY for Xbox. I was looking for a D&D style rpg, but didn't do any research. Went to a store and just picked it up off the shelf. Hooked on Elder Scrolls now. Bought Oblivion Collectors edition for PC the day it came out. These two are still in my top 5 all time favorites.

Aerobiz! My brother and I would play that pretty much constantly whenever we rented it. He went and bought a copy of the sequel (Aerobiz: Supersonic) on eBay when he took our SNES :p

Damn, beat me to it! My older brother and I stumbled upon this unknown gem back in the day at Blockbuster and played it so long we had to re-rent it 3 times. Then we got the great idea to return it with FZero in the box and keep Aerobiz instead. Well my mom calls us when she reaches Blockbuster and tells us we better find that game and get up there asap, they were saying if we didn't bring that game back we owed $75 bucks for it. They said that's what it would cost to replace since it's a rare title.

My brother and I have always been interested in business, when we would play with hotwheels back in the day, we created our own pretend stock market.

Anyone ever play WallStreet Kid for the NES, back in the late 80's?

Two more came to mind for NES, Little Ninja Brothers and Death Race. The first one has the same gameplay as some other game, but wrapped up with a two player RPG. Great fun with a friend. Both unlicensed titles, IIRC, but there was a rental place in town that had a few unlicensed games.

Elder Scrolls: Arena. Loved the game for the magic system, too bad the squeal Daggerfall was so buggy.

Final Fantasy Tactics

I know, I know it's a FF game, so I wasn't surprised it was good. However, I was surprised that I ended up liking it better than FF7 (which I was going to buy that day, but was out of stock)

lol... there were some little bastards that used the same video rental store that I rented games from back in the day... the little shits would physically swap the contents of the cartridge on games to keep games they wanted. There were at least a half dozen times where I'd get home with a game, pop it in, and some crap game would come on instead. You'd think that after one time... certainly no more than two or three... they'd look at the rental history and see who had it prior to me.

I can't even tell you how bummed out I was when I got home one day with a cartridge clearly labeled as "Chrono Trigger" to pop it in and see some shite Bugs Bunny game come on.

Psychonauts on PC was pretty damn good for something I didnt expect much from. EXCEPT: The *&%@( game kept crashing at the same spot at what I assume is somewhere very near the final final boss, which sucked bigtime. never did totally finish it

I played psychonauts on PC and never had an issue like that. It was one of the more stable PC games to come from consoles IMO

Warsong on the Genesis. Saw it in the bargain bins for 15.00. Amazing game. Anyone else played this before?
