Great deal on Klipsch Promedia speakers

Um... how do you know you got brand new speakers? The point of refurb is the company took the best working parts of a bunch of used/returned goodies, cleaned em up/fixed em like new and sold em as refurb. You're not supposed to notice a difference and I know for a fact that you got used speakers just by the box. Some companies even sell their refurbs factory sealed to give you more peace of mind buying refurb.

But... the good thing is that refurbs generally get more testing that retail. Companies expect retail to function, so they don't test a ton, but with a used item they have to make sure it's okay to sell and that it's as good as it can be.

Good deal, but you don't get retail speakers... no matter how new they appear to be.

There is no gareneete, but often times they are un-used. My sats were not used at all. The woofers were not even broken in which occurs in just one heavy use. Plus they still smelled brand new. The amp may have been used, but beyond that, if you cant tell and you get a warranty, I think its safe to say its worth the price difference. I have bought new Promedias and these were identical as far as I could tell.

I'm just speaking from experience. But if retail means that much, by all means dont buy refurbs. I happened to have a good experience buying refurbs and thought I should share the deal with you all.

I saw these two .. but the shipping kind of killed it for me. Came to $110 with shipping and taxes. I hate paying shipping ... look all around for a good deal and the shipping spoils it!

Ugh, these are the GMX kind. I wouldn't spend $50 on them. Sometimes they have the promedia 2.1 refurbed for $99 and there is a huge difference in quality between the two.

I had some of the GMX 5.1s and they were horrible. I sent them back (oh what a headache that was) and went back to the logitechs I was using before them. The GMX to me arent even worth the Klipsch name.

I got a set of Promedia 2.1 for $50 from a post on this forum about two months ago and I love them. There were some real nightmare stories from some of the other folks who got in on the deal though.

These are the 2.1's.. they are a bit better than the 5.1's which have that decoder and lack of 6 channel analog input. These actually have more watts per channel and I have heard compares to people who have owned both the 2.1's and these and its a toss up because this subwoofer is a lot better than the older 2.1 sub which has some ugly port noise.. I know because I own it.

Trust me, this a great 2.1 system and at this price, you can?t go wrong.. There is absolutely nothing better at this price unless you want used risk ebay stuff.
