great deal 1 hr battery charger !! AA and AAA

Umm... Hate to burst your bubble but

$30 doesn't seem like a 'great' deal when it retails for $35 and shipping is ??

Their online ordering system (which is a tiny obscure link in the upper right corner) shows the price as ~37 and it says you have to buy a minimum of 2.

a hour charger may adversely affect the long term charging capacity of your batteries. of course that may just mean your batteries last for 300 charges instead of 350...

Did you actually order one of these online from this store?

I am not an expert on rechargables, but I've heard the same thing. Fast chargers are supposed to be a lot more stressful on the battery.

...but this charger monitors the charge on each battery individually to charge
quickly but safely (according to the manufacturer). This means you can charge
partially charged batteries too.

A lot of chargers just trickle charge for a long time to avoid this problem.

stinky.

Yeah, you can get them at Walmart, just like diablonhn said.

I bought one a while back after I got tired of how long my old
Rayovac charger took to charge my batteries and I wanted to
make sure they got charged ASAP while I was on vacation.
The thing charged my batteries up really fast (quite a bit less
than 1 hour) and I am quite happy with the upgrade. If it
toasts the batteries after 300 charges, I'll just buy some more...
it's still a helluva lot cheaper than buying regular AA batteries
every week or so.

I think I paid around $26-28 for it with the two 1600mAH batteries
included.

Walgreens has Rayovac stuff on sale this week.
I got the same charger for $29.99. Also they had a pack of 4 1600MAh AA batteries for $9.99. I was to lazzy to go to Target to pricematch w/ Walgreens and use the supplied coupon, but if I did so I could drive the price down to $7.99.

The charger that I got DOES have 2 batteries, but I am not sure for this one online:

jonnyfin: why go thru this pain in the ass when costco sells 24pack duracell "throw aways" for $10-12??
Because with power hungry devices (like Dimage 5/7) you'll have to "throw away" every hour. Of course it makes no sence to use 1600mah (or 1800) NiMH batteries in your TV remote.

At BJ's wholesale club I got a Panasonic charger (3 hour ?) 6 1600ma AA's & 2 AAA for ~25 and there is a $5 rebate from Panasonic

you get an hour out of throw aways? Man, I just got my Dimage 5 and i can barely get about 20 shots before they are drained.

Oh, I also had those Rayovac Renewals... man are they garbage!!! I charged them up overnight and I got a whole 2 shots before they were done!!! WTF?

Personally, I would never buy any more rayovac products. I have just bought 20 GP 1800mah NiMH AA and they last!!!!

It makes sense to use rechargable batteries in everything you can, if you hate the idea of waste and dumping a couple dozen alkalines a year. I do have to cycle the batteries in low power or infrequently used devices every couple of months, but it sure beats buying batteries.

Don't you have environmental worries? Those throw aways are hazardous.
Consumption greed must have made you insensitive to these issues.

I've got the Maha MH C204F 1 hour charger and it works like a charm. Go to Thomas Distributing LINK and check out the package deals. I'm giving some of these away as Christmas gifts to friends who recently purchased digital cameras or MP3 CD Players 😀

The Maha charger can recharge 2 batteries in 1 hour.It takes more than 2 1/2 hours to charge 4!
I don't know about most cameras,but mine takes 4 batteries.The Ray-O-Vac unit does 4 in 1 hour,for
the same price as the Maha!

Man, my Logitech wireless optical keyboard and mouse set suck up about 6 AA's every two to three weeks..........gotta go pick up one of these sets! 🙂
