these guns look like they are from WWII literally, I mean used. they should just give them away for free. but honestly I'd just save up and some modern toy.

That's ironic because they weren't deployed until post WW2 I believe.

Damn, it doesn't seem that long ago when my step-dad got his for $150 brand spankin new still covered in oil.

SKS are junk compared to any us made guns. And the other poster is correct only several years ago you could get as many as you wanted sub $100.

Nah, the ones that were dropped were M-16s, made in the USA. The victorious Vietcong, Vietminh, and North Vietnamese Army (NVA) used the SKS along with the AK-47.
I know you're trying to be funny, but the Vietcong was basically wiped out after the Tet Offensive... the Viet Minh and the NVA are also the same entity. There were no dropped M-16s by the US - the South Vietnamese are the ones who ultimately lost the war after the US withdrew. While the US failed to occupy North Vietnam, they did successfully preserve South Vietnam. Your characterization of the war is somewhat at odds with reality...

Anyways back on topic: $300 might reasonable if these were NEW.

not hot for me, i just bought a new unfired one locally with the bayonet without ffl fees for $250, and you will have to pay for ffl with that sks...so its really around $335 total.

Thanks for the link. I'm in the market for a decent rifle but I'll pass on the deal. I bought one years ago at a gun show for $89 and it was a jammin' POS. I can't bring myself to take another chance on one.

while the price seems ridiculous, why all the sks hate? i have had one for over 18yrs, probably has 10k rnds through it, never a jam (and i think all i shoot through it is wolf), decently accurate to 75yds or so, a good plinker. i would definately consider it a "truck gun" though. i am surprised how much these things have gone up...damn, and now no bayonet? WTF??

and to the poster about semi, wtf are you thinking - sks=semi auto

I have never had a problem with an SKS.

My dad warned me that SKSs would go up in price, just like everything else.
He remembers in the 80s seeing M1 Garands, M1 Carbines, pre-ban AK47, for a couple hundred dollars. Now they are all nearing $1000 (this is a huge approximation).

He told me to buy 4-5 nice SKSs, new in box and store them away.
I only got one. 🙂
