Great Appentizer Ideas?

I am looking for some really good appetizer ideas. I am going to a party and that is what we are bringing. Some preferably meat and/or cheese based. There are going to be a lot of veggie type appetizers there like spinach and artichoke, bruschetta, etc. I tried to make papas bravas, but the recipe I got was not very good.

So what are some of your favorites that you would want to see at a party? Something that maybe isn't the norm.

my favorite dip:
8 oz of cream cheese
8 oz sour cream
3 decent sized chicken breast shredded.
roughly 8oz shredded pepper jack cheese.
1 small can of habaneros in adobo suace

mix together over low heat or low crock pot. eat and enjoy

My wife does something really similar, she calls is chicken wing dip.

Package Cream Cheese 8oz
Jar of Blue Cheese Dressing 8oz
Shredded Chicken (we usually use the costco chicken in a can stuff.)
a load of Shredded Cheese, usually cheddar or Jack.
1 Can of Franks Red Hot Sauce

all in a crock pot, serve with chips and/or bread.

Tastes kinda like chicken wings with blue cheese on em.

Chili's Skillet Queso dip + tortilla chips = win. I'm not 100% sure this is the exact same as what Chili's serves, but it tastes soooooo good.

16 ounces Velveeta cheese
1 (15 ounce) can hormel chili (no-bean chili, not Chunky)
1 cup milk (I used whole)
4 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons paprika
1 tablespoon lime juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

Wow, tons of great ideas. Those all sound delicious. I am glad I ate lunch already! I think I will have to stop by the grocery store and test these tonight 🙂

And to bignat, it can be either.

yeah i used to make that all the time until someone told me the recipe i listed. I make one of them every time i have a party.

I will make the one i listed for a snack. the left overs i put in the fridge and makes a great base for taco's.

shrimp wrapped bacon toasted in the oven

opposite of what you're looking for but I like French fried green bean casserole also.

Jalapeno poppers!

Cut the Jalapeno in half and clear out seeds.
Fill with either cream cheese or any type of cheese
Wrap in bacon and bake in the oven

Love those things!!

appentizer?

I'm not really a spelling snob... I'm just wondering where the 'n' came from. When typing that word your fingers are nowhere near that key.

i came in here to post pigs in blankets but since KaOTiK beat me to it i'll add another favorite:

cheese, pepperoni and cracker plate

i can make those tiny little sandwiches all day.

I don't know. I am a little a.d.d. when I type, so if I was thinking of a word with "n" it at the time, my fingers probably just typed it.

We take this to another level by seasoning the cream cheese with shredded cheddar, garlic salt, few tablespoons of bbq rub and chopped pepperoni.

Instead of the oven we smoke them for 2-3hrs.

Its a lot of work & money to make 2-dozen of these.
