Great 19" Monitor Recommendations

I was wondering if anyone has any good monitor recommendation.

The Sony StylePro CPD-G410R looks pretty impressive for $350 (shipped).

Anyone have any comments or suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Iiyama Vision Master Pro 450. If you can still get them that is as a lot of the new models seem to be of a lesser spec. 😉

I have a KDS xf9e and its great. only cost 180$ at walmart does 1600x1200 @ 75Hz

aoso have a Phillips 109B4. ~ 250$ itll do 1600x1200 @ 75 HZ also

both nice

I've got an Iiyama Vision Master Pro 454. I love it. Lots of features and great resolutions: 1280x1024 at 100Hz .And that's just what I run mine at. It'll go higher. It has a 4 port USB hub, 2 VGA inputs for different computers, and a short neck.

Being a proud Sony owner, I would normally choose the CPD-G410R but at $350 shipped, I would choose the Samsung 955DF instead. I searched for like 3 minutes and found the Samsung 955DF for $192.95 shipped, no tax.

For $350 bucks...would you want a

A Sony CPD-G410R

or...

A Samsung 955DF and a Jet Black Nintendo Gamecube plus a free copy of Zelda and some change.

If you have no problems spending that much money, and it won't harm you much financially (if at all), then by all means get the Sony. That Sony is pretty nice, and i've seen it with a 955DF and it is much better than the 955DF. You also have to wonder if the obviousness of the 955DF's non-flat screen (regardless of the flat outer glass) will bother you at all. It kinda bugged me when I saw it, so i'm going to buy something perfectly flat instead. You might want to check out the NEC MultiSync FE991SB...its the one that I chose to buy (when I get a new job) and it is usually around $240-$250. I hear another good one that I can find for just a shade under $300 is the Viewsonic P95f (not the P95f+). If I were you, and had the money, I would DEFINITELY go for that Sony monitor. I have seen it and it is great...absolutely no focus issues, convergence issues, or any other kind of problem it could have.

I would also like to point out to you that I had more than 8 people in this forum highly recommend that I avoid the 955DF. Most of them owned them, and said things similar to "I cannot stress enough how bad the 955DF is." I wouldn't say it is absolutely terrible, just that there are much better monitors out there.

Real talk! Oddly enough, 2 years ago, SOny used Mitsubishi components to built their crap. My friend opened his sony Trinitron up to dust it, and it had Mitsubishi written all over...My Viewsonic Pro has that too.

I have 2 Samsung 955DF 19" monitors. You'll find that many here own this particular monitor for it's great price/performance ratio. For under $200.00 shipped right now I still think it's the best choice in that category. Many have some probs. with this monitor, just like any piece of hardware you'll have people who hate and love it. I guess you just have to look at the big picture and realize that most people with the 955DF have no probs. with it and feel as though they made a great purchase.

There are better monitors and worse monitors. If you have some $$ to burn, definately look around. If you want a nice 19" CRT which consistently rates in the top 10 in "price/performance" then seriously take a look at the 955DF. I think Buy.com has it right now for under $190.00 shipped.

I would suggest that you stay away from the Samsung 955DF.

I use one every day at work, and i dont like it one bit. (Its not mine, so i have no power to return/exchange it). I run it at 1280 x 960, since focus and edge distortion occurs at 1280x1024 and above. At 1600x1200 the text is quite blurry. The color is not very great either. But in its defense, i must say that it was pretty cheap, for a 19" monitor.

I am also interested in buying a new 19" CRT. Almost made up my mind on the Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 930SB. Any suggestions are welcome.

I would only recommend the more expensive, Professional series. Those cost more, but are of extremely high quality. The only monitor I would exchange my PF775 Pro (that is 6500 km away) is for 995 Pro, from viewsoni.

i got a samtron (made by samsung) 19" flatscreen with a .20 dot pitch and a 4 year warrenty for $184 at my local sams club

model 98bdf

Make that NEC, and I agree. NEC makes nice monitors.

I've seen several recommendations for the NEC FE991. An even better monitor than this one is the NEC FP912 and it doesn't cost that much more. The picture is absolutely phenomenal.
