I think I really might like to start learning more detailed information about what goes on under the hood of my car. Where would be a good place to start finding out information about my car, and cars in general?
If you're mechanicaly inclined, Get yourself a chilton manual on your car and some tools and have at it. Start with a simple tune up (assuming your car could use one) and go from there. The best way to learn is to just get in there and try it. I've never really seen a good overall place to learn other than paying some school to teach you. The biggest thing is don't be afraid to ask for help if you think you've gotten in over your head. Offer some buddies free beer to come over and give you hand
If you have a particular car in mind, www.autozone.com has the service manuals for some cars. Click on the Repair info link then click on Vehicle Repair Guides.
