(if it did!)
but every time im watching those news shots from presidential visits i think "they dont look nearly as secure as his gigs over here"
i always chalk it up to the sheer size of the security. but damn, thats scary.

Funny, how they don't need to have as much security when their in another forigen country...

The Secret Service has not yet confirmed whether the object was a real grenade and if so, whether the pin had been pulled
no fkn way.. poor quality control/workmanship from a communist country.. no. fkn. way.
Words cannont describe how upset I am over this issuse. The security that was guarding the president upsets me greatly.
am I the only one who still remembers (and initially registered because of!) liberals/democrats were of a kind-hearted/pacifist kinda breed?!? The Dems/Libs have morphed into everything they?ve always despised of the Right ? bitter, disrespectful, ignorant, violent, etc..

oh and.. ?cannont?? ?issues??? - and you?re prolly wondering why your team loses all the time.. yeesh

Typical knee-jerk reaction from a poltical partisan, I am not on any team. Thank for you making politics into a simple little game. It's not a game it deals with people lives which you cannont even begin to fathom. When people get mad they do things, sometimes bad things. Maybe if our president did a good job things such as this would never need to happen?
uh, "knee-jerk"? y?mean, you're not a Democrat? You didn't vote for Kerry? or Clinton? or Mondale? (you?re of voting age, yes?) you?re not feigning sarcasm w/ your "concern" for our President?

I am Independent I did vote for Kerry, though the rest of my votes where not democratic in nature.

Am I feigning? Since you seem to a vast amount of knowledge in politcs I don't think this will be a problem for you to comprehend.

Guys, in all seriousness, I express honest disappointment that GW Bush didnt die to the grenade. I honestly believe GW is a moron, and I hate seeing his monkey face each time he takes the podium. I would much rather have Cheney run the country.

EDIT: I don't wish death to GW Bush, but if he managed to die somehow.. well, let's say there wouldn't be any kind of mourning here.

Just got home and I was just about to post this very same subject, congradulations on beeting me to it.

I am so glad though the president was ok, I wonder if Al-Queda had anything to do with this?

As much as I disagree with GW Bush, I don't think he deserves to be blown up by a grenade. Nobody deserves that.

Well why don't you tell that to dumbya about the possible 100,000+ that have died by being blow apart or shredded by gunfire in the war based on HIS lies.

What do you expect? This fool goes spreading his arrogance and stupdity throughout the world. Having Bush visit your country would be about like having Hitler come and give speeches in our country.

Where on earth did you get the idea that I am angred about a grenade near our president that could have possibly killed him?

Sarcasm just doesn't work over the internet. 😉

Interesting they didn't throw the greande at the president, it was near him. 😉

You are such a looser.

Most of the Iraqi people love President Bush and are thanking America for it's actions. I hear all the time from troops returning home (including ones in my family) that most of the media is lying and (the Iraqi) people thank our soldiers every day. It's those few sympathisers of Sadam and Al-Queda (Zarquai) that are ruining it for the group as a whole and making everyone look bad. I am glad we are there, we should have been there 15 years ago and then we would not be having all of the problems we have today. Bush Jr is only trying to fix the mistakes his father made (left behind) and he is taking all the heat for it. Good For you Dubya for standing up for what you belive is right, sticking to your guns no matter what other people think. It takes a brave person to do that.

We would have NEVER invaded Iraq if Saddam had not lied to and denied UN weapons inspectors in his country in the first place. All the stall tactics he employed only added to the suspicion. After enough time had passed we had to bust in (just like police going in to a suspected drug home) and let in the weapons inspectors and do a clean sweep. And this was only because he would NOT COMPLY WITH THE UN MANDATE.

I don't deny that thousands have died because of Bush's war, but I still don't think that he deserves to be grenaded for that. If Bush got blown up, it wouldn't bring back those thousands who perished.

I don't like Bush much. The liberatarian in me recoils at his reckless foreign policy and big government Republicanism. I can't stand the pandering to the religious right. But that's not enough to make me want him dead. Bush would have to perpetrate something like genocide in order for me to want that. I honestly don't think he's a bad person. I just think that he's steering the country in a very bad direction.

Hahahaha! Out of all things you could have talked about you choose Iraq. Let's look all the other things he has done...

It does matter what other people think, this is pure evidence that you're extremely biased and don't seem to credit information agaisnt him.

So what? Would you act kind if the police bust down your door and parade around your house? You expect a soverien nation to compley with terms? Don't you understand they have their own private lives? Did the United States ever listen to France's plea of Tripling inspecters? Why on Earth would the Administration want to invade Iraq before 9/11 in the first place?

So what if he wasn't compley with the mandate? Thats why he had economic sactions amoung other things. You have just about every single country agaisnt the war and Saddam hasn't really done anything wrong in 10 years. It's not my country, their internal affairs are not my problem.

I explicitly said I wouldn't wish death on him, so I could avoid being commented on by morons like you. Unfortunately, the thought process needed in order to read my post and understand what I am trying to say seems too far above you.

I said I would not grieve if he died. If we could choose to kill him, I would not choose to kill GWBush. I would not wish death on anyone but my worst enemies. And maybe even not then.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- U.S. officials are investigating a report that an apparent hand grenade landed about 100 feet from where President Bush was speaking Tuesday in Tblisi, the capital of Georgia, a Secret Service spokesman said.

The Secret Service has not yet confirmed whether the object was a real grenade and if so, whether the pin had been pulled, said spokesman Jim Mackin.

"We have not seen the reported device," he said.

No explosion was reported.

Mackin said Georgian officials alerted their U.S. counterparts about the incident several hours after Bush departed the former Soviet republic, where he received an enthusiastic welcome in a public square in the capital.

According to the account by Georgian security officials, the grenade hit an individual and fell to the ground, Mackin said.

At that point, security officers recognized the device and removed it, he said. No further details were available.

The FBI and State Department are also investigating the incident, Mackin said.

In his speech, Bush told a crowd of tens of thousands that Georgia is proving to the world that determined people can rise up and claim their freedom from oppressive rulers.

Bush's speech was the last event of his five-day, four-nation tour marking the end of World War II in Europe.

Words cannont describe how upset I am over this issuse. The security that was guarding the president upsets me greatly.

Why isn't this thread locked?

There are some things you cannot say about the President. Threats against his life is one of them.

Freedom of speech has its limitations.

I think it was CADSortaGuy, haven't seen him for weeks... probably some kind of reverse psychology thing, attack the president to boost his popularity

Nah, your country is basically the lapdog of the US so I'd expect them to be knocking on your door in a couple of hours.
