I've got a few more months of high school left. I've been using a TI86 for my AP Calc class, but it died recently. I think i'm going to end up buying a new one (i've had it almost 3 years, and i bought it used . . . the warranty is probably up). I'm giong to be a CS major, so I'll be taking a good amount of math in college. Would I be better off w/ a higher model TI calculator? Or a different brand even?

Some of my instructors don't allow the ti-89 because it can do symbolic integration and differentiation and a lot of other cool stuff. If you get an ti89 the game are higher resolution and funner to play ;).

I'm a freshman CS major, and the ONLY calc we're allowed to use is the TI-83. The reason they limited it was because it was too hard to keep up with all of the different brands and models and what they can do.

Actually, in calc 1 and 2 we weren't allowed to use calculators. Just physics.
