Hi there,
I repost cause the topic went on the second page unseen...

At presentl I am using an old Ati Mobile Radeon 9200, But find it hard to do more complex rendering, thats why I am upgrading to Desktop. Fire GL seems to be the best option, but very expensive and the ones that do provide dual monitor support are really out of my budget.
However I was looking at Apple Website, in particular the Mac Pro System Config they mention the ATI Radeon X1900 XT for more heavy 3D application, over the Nvidia...The Ati also offers HD support and Avivo, for better viewing experience? Is it marketing or..?

Is there a difference between the ATI Radeon X1900 XT and the 3D Connect ATI Radeon X1900 XT ?

ATI licenses its technology so you will find the same card made by a multitude of mfgs Asus/powercolor/msi, and also sells them under its own brand name.

Sometimes there are differences in speed as certain mfgrs factory overclock their cards

The cards themselves are almost always based on the reference design. Sometimes they might use a different type of cap here and there but they are all bassicly the same.

The major differences are the HS/F (cooling solution) used, and what is bundled with the card.

unlike nVidia cards where you have to check memory ns speeds because they do differ in the past. ati should be all the same except for label and bundle.
