Yah some of them are debatable. Like 285 vs. 4850x2 and the 4890 vs. 275 - But close enough to give a newbie the right idea.

same here.

I'm not sure about the positioning of the 3450, last time I checked the good ole 9700 PRO could readily hand the 3450 it's ass on a plate in DX9 based games.

and I could have sworn that a 3870 was a bit slower than the 2900XT...maybe I should test that out, I have both cards.

4670 > 8800GS and 8800GTS G80??

I've had 7 cards from that list! And curiously enough, 2 were faster than what I've got now. :)

There's quite a few very questionable rankings on there, but it's mostly okay.

there are definatly some issue with that list, and they dont show enough older cards like the 3dfx cards.

Well, the list is ordered by average performance only (based on game benchmarks).
I suppose it's a bit confusing because DX9 cards are very close to DX10 cards in this list.
Which is probably true if you use DX10 settings on the DX10 cards. But if you'd use DX9 on both, the DX10 cards are generally much faster. The Radeon X1900 variations wouldn't be that close to the 8800 series.

Amazing that my ancient 8800GTS G80 is still in the top 30 :)

No kidding. I've been out of the loop for a few years, but a $40 Geforce 9400GT is faster than my old Geforce 6800 (which I paid a whole lot more for in 2005)? Wow... but hey that's the way it goes... :)

I think I would have the #2 setup behind only 2X 285.

Edit: Unless of course we start including 3X and 4X gpus. Oops.

Ati's top of the line refresh from this gen is only 1 spot above nV's top card from last gen.

It's a virtual toss up between the two, really depends on the games you play.
