Hi people. Hoping someone will be able to help me here. My PC has been running fine over the last few months, got a new graphics card, that's been working fine for about 3 weeks. Then last week, for no real reason its decides to stop working :-(
The Problem occurs on boot-up, I just get a black screen, and no hard drive activity. I can get into the O/S menu to select boot-up in safe mode etc, but what ever I choose I just get a black screen with no HD activity. If I stick in the XP disk and try and re-install it I get to the blue screen, it loads all the drivers, then when it comes up with "Starting Windows" it goes to a black screen (getting the re-occurring theme here ? :-(
If I try different Hard Drives I get the same. I've tried an old hard drive with Win98SE on it and after setting up the new drivers it just went back to, you've guessed, a black screen.
Have swapped everything I can around, re-seated everything, tried different sticks of memory with no joy. I'm guess it might be graphics card related, and am going to borrow a few off friends this weekend, but was wondering if anyone might be able to help me on this one ?
