Graphics card not sending image to LCD!

Hey guys I just installed an ATI x1800XT into my new system and I booted it up the first time perfectly, image came up, even was able to mess around in windows for a bit. However I shut down the PC yesterday and when I came back today to turn it on, the PC goes on and boots however I get no image on my monitor!

I tested the monitor on my roommates laptop, and I can get his laptop to display on the screen. I tested both DVI ports on the back of the ATI card and had no success getting an image to display.

I also flipped the PSU off and on hoping that might have some effect but no such luck.

Anyone got some ideas? I am going to reseat the card in the slot and see if that does anything for it, but other than that I'm not sure how to tackle this.

If no image during BIOS then it's prolly not a driver issue. How aboot manually toggling the display's input source or trying VGA (presumably with included adapter if card has two DVI outputs)?

My monitor only has a cable that is a VGA so I am using VGA with the provided adapter.

How would I go about manually toggling my display's input source?

I have a Sony SDM-73 LCD.

Also I did reseat the graphics card, nothing. Also cleared the CMOS, that didn't do anything either 🙁.

well ive been there
which os do u hav
if its XP try starting up in safe mode and change the desktop rez
did u mess around with the settings if so which ones

did u try takin off the x1800
and do u hear the sound that windows makes when booting up if so definately it will boot up in safe mood
what card did u have before

I have .net on windows so it goes to that pick a profile screen before making the windows welcome sounds 🙁. Since I cant see anything I can't click it.

As for previous card it was a BFG 5900 Ultra, with an Asus P4P800 mobo (AGP).

What exactly do you mean by turning off the x1800?

Ah, if just single VGA there prolly ain't any inputs to toggle. Sounding more like the card needs to be tested in another machine. Try using different power plugs from the PSU?

i didnt say turn off the x1800 isaid take it off and see
so u cant see any thing at all
so this is a new pc or id they AGP x1800s
does ur current mobo have onboard video

I had another card, 7800GT, which I ordered from newegg and was going to return for a refund because I got a deal on this x1800. However, since the x1800 isn't working I opened the 7800GT and put that in. Now the computer works fine, so apparently that ATI card is dead.

BTW yes I did connect it to another PSU plug, had no effect.

u fried the card?????
i dont think its dead yet anyways theres no much difference b/w 1800 and 7800 but still can u return the card

I plugged the ATI card back in using another wire to plug into the cards power port, no luck. Only other idea I have is maybe a BIOS version issue? BTW I definitely didn't fry it, just has something else wrong with it.

I mean when my PC did boot with the ATI in it, the Abit BIOS graphic was all corrupt and messed up looking. It is not this way with the 7800GT in there.

I am gonna flash the bios to the latest revision and retry the ATI card, if not I don't have another PC to test it on so it sounds like its not functioning.

*edit: Apparently the bios is already at the latest revision, should I go to a previous BIOS version?
