Graphics card not inserted properly; error code

😕I just put my computer together. When I turn it on, the monitor light goes yellow and no display appears on the monitor so I can't get into the BIOS or go any further with the build. When I turn on the computer on, I get several loud continuous beeps as an error message, which according to the motherboard manual means the graphics card is not inserted properly. The motherboard says it comes with onboard ati radeon 3300 graphics. How do I get a display on my monitor using the onboard graphics? I don't have a discreet gpu right now. please let me know if I am missing something obvious.

Gigabyte GA-MA790GP-UD4H 790gx
AMD Phenom II x3 710
2gx2 Gskill PC6400 Memory
Antec EA 650 Power Supply
Western Digital HDD
Samsung DVD Burn
raidmax aztec case
 
Have you tried to reset the BIOS?
also, i'm not familiar with that board, a quick search found this, copied from newegg review--> mobo requires 2 power connections an 8-pin near the I/0, and a 24 pin. something to double check in case it was overlooked.
 
I'd start from scratch, disassemble and reassemble, disconnect everything but memory and cpu, reseat both cpu and memory and hope it boots, if your sure psu is fine, could be a bad board, also try vga and dvi connectors unless you already have....thats all i can offer to tell ya, good luck.

thats an odd error to get since your tryin to boot with onboard video, thats why i suggested reset bios...remove any other cards you may have in there.

 
also check the manual again on that error code, I thought long continous beeps were video card seated improperly where as you say several loud beeps, maybe i'm gasping here but...
 
Try with one stick of ram.

Long continuous beeps are usually power or mb/cpu/ram related

A long beep and 3-8 short beeps is video card.

But it really depends on the bios.
 
tried everything you guys said. double checked the manual and it says log coninuos beeps =graphic card not inserted properly. I tried one stick of memory too. If I had to guess , I would think it was incomptible memory or a motherboard that didin't have onboard memory. This error code and everything powering up is really throwing me.
 
Do you have any spare hardware that you can start swapping out to crossing off possible causes.....such as PSU or memory?
If you are correct with the beep codes.....regarding the graphics card, that seems to be as if the onboard video was/is disabled somehow in BIOS which should be enabled by default with bios reset, only way to know for sure is if you had a video card to test it, if you don't have one available or even borrow from someone....i don't what to tell ya.

 
Resetting the CMOS should set the integrated graphics to on. Without a different video card to test with, however, you'll never know. If you can't beg/borrow/steal and come up with one, you'll just need to pickup the cheapest card that you can find.
 
what is the best way to reset the bios: itried shorting thes cmos poles. taking out the battery doesn't look like an option w/o breaking something. By the way , I get 4 long beeps and a fifth shorter beep for an error message from the gigabyte board. This happens with or w/o a monitor connected
 
took battery out, still wont post. 4 long beeps one short error code. wish I new what this means. still no moniter, just yellow light. I have rebuilt this computer and still same result. Manual says continuous long beeps =graphics card, but this has igp. everything powers on, drives fans, usb, etc, If this was memory incompatibility or cpu problem would I at least get to post screen? Wish someone had accurate post codes for this gigabyte motherboard. everywhere I look on the internet says something different. Has anybody had this problem before?😕
 
What happens when you pull the memory completely? Does your error code change at all?

Also, I'm not familiar with your particular board but some boards have LEDs on them that will give you a more definite code. There's nothing like this on your board, is there?
 
Gigabyte told me to pull memory and battery for 5 minutes. Then put back memory and one stick of RAM. Wouldn't post with first stick, but when I tried it again with second stick it booted up, no error beeps. I manually adjusted bios for second dimm, but if I put second stick in slot computer won't post and starts beeping. Memory is pretty normal g.skill 2 x 2gb pc6400 800 4-4-4-12 epp brand new.
