so i recently bought myself a (used) evga gtx 570, but when i plugged it in, it didn't post. what are possible problems?

also i had a gtx 275 that was working a few months ago. recently, i sold it to a friend and he mentioned that it was broken. he tried it in different boards, etc to no avail. both boards reported a VGA-not-detected error at POST when he was trying to run it in sli. what could be the problem?

well, my psu is an antec earthwatts 650 watt psu and my mobo was a gigabyte 790fxt ud5p. i have no idea about the gtx 570 since i just got it.

as for the gtx 275 though, it has worked with the board and the psu before i sold it to a friend. when he got it, he told me it was doa, and it didn't work with any of his boards.

Did your friend try running the GTX 275 by itself or only in a SLI setup? If not, should try it as the only card and see if it will post at all.

In your case with the GTX 570 - your PSU should be more than adequate to power it. You do have the external power plugs in firmly, right? Do you have an alternate mobo to try?

Well when I had it, it worked well by itself, but I think my friend has already tried it in a non-SLI set up as well. What could be possible problems? Should I try baking it?

The previous owner of the GTX570 was willing to RMA it so all is good.
