Graphic issue, no display

I have dual monitors, it all works perfectly fine in windows, running on my 9600GT

When I try to boot into linux, I get no display. My monitor remains on, but it's as if it doesn't get a signal. This is after the loading screens and BIOS checks. The part when it should load the login screen, it just goes dark and remains this way. The same thing happens when I try to boot into a live cd, regardless of distribution.

Now if I unplug one monitor, it will load into the other monitor just fine, but for some reason when they are both plugged in, I can't get it to work.

Also note, I remember with my old vid card 7900GT, all the way from boot to login, I would get a copy displayed on both of my monitors. For example, the BIOS screen and the "Loading windows" screen would appear on both monitors, then after logging in and having the drivers kick in, it would correct itself.

Now I only get output from my primary monitor, and the secondary monitor gets no input until the drivers kick in. Might this have something to do with it?

Thanks.
