I have a EVGA 7900gt something or other that I bought a year or so back. When I bought it the card worked perfectly. But now whenever I play 3D games i get random graphic spikes. When no 3D game is being played I get wrong colored pixels all other the place. It's not my monitor, at least I don't think it is, because I hooked up different monitors to my PC to test it.
I tried downloading and installing semi-recent drivers from the Nvidia site. All that did was screw with my computer making it work like poop. So is my card just dying, or maybe just got struck with a retard-stick? I'm planning on building a new computer eventually so I'm really hoping not having to buy anything new for this PC... I guess I'm trying to get get suggestions on how to fix this issue with out doing anything to drastic. Anything would be helpful, and thanks in advanced. (I'll take some screen shots and post them asap to give a visual of my problem).

[on a side note - can some one direct me to a forum page to ask where i might be able to find some kind of software that could simulate a lan connection between PCs using an internet connection as a link. Some kind of virtual sever thing. ]

If the problems you get are anything like this, then it will be your video card, items being stretched distorted or missing from the picture

Its most probably the common Nvidia 7900/7600 problem its caused by the Capicitors getting damaged over time and then overheating, i had the problem myself and we get a fair amount of these threads per month hopefully you still have warranty

Ive not bought an nvidia card since my 7900gs failed, i just dont trust them doing the same again Fast card for its day and cheaper than ATI's offerings but nvidia really cut corners with crappy cooler and Capacitors

well, Guess youll be looking for a new GPU then, if you want something decent for <$100 go for the ATI 4670 should be faster than your GT
