Try to do % based widths or em's or something, just will alienate some people if they come in and have issues with it looking off.

Thanks TruePaige, you're right. Learning textpattern for this has been a bit of a process, I'm going to be working out the usability/accessibility issues over the next little while, this being one of the main ones.
