It is claimed on some internet sites that the Suzuki Pikes Peak can reach a top speed of 800 MPH.

I have only gotten up to 600 MPH.

One guy claims to have reached a speed in excess of 1500 MPH.

What's your secret?

Here are the instructions copied from http://cheatplanet.com/ps2cheats/gran_turismo_3.htm

=INSTRUCTIONS FOR REACHING 800MPH=====================================================================

1.Equip the highest possible turbo or NA tune stage possible.
2.Decrease spring rate to smallest possible value on both front and rear.
3.Decrease ride height to smallest possible value on both front and rear.
4.Set gear ratio's auto setting to highest possible level.
5.Set gear ratio's final gear to about 3.000
6.Decrease front downforce to the lowest and increase rear downforce to the highest possible value.
7.Set ASM and TCS to level 0

Now go out on the test coure and when u reach about 230mph your car will begin to catch some air.

=INSTRUCTIONS FOR REACHING MACH 2=====================================================================

When pulling the wheelie code using the Escudo Pikes Peak version the car can go over 800 Mph as stated before, but I have reached a speed of " 1541.6 !! " Mph.(basically mach 2!). In order to do this trick use the settings in the
1.Equip highest turbo.
2.Set spring rate to smallest for front and rear.
3.Set ride height to smallest for front and rear.
4.Set gear ratio's auto setting to highest possible level.
5.Set gear ratio's final gear to 3.000
6.Set front downforce to lowest and rear downforce to highest
7.Set ASM and TCS to level 0

as you might have already known.
Then when going to the test track go the reverse way around and stop just over half way through the first turn. Floor it and try to make it out of the turn at at least 240 Mph. If done correctly, by the end of the strait away congratulations, you have just doubled the speed of sound!!

How the hell did you get it to 600 mph? I could only get it up to about 290.

<< PASTED TO TOP! >>

Why the hell don't you answer the questions here if you're going to "paste to top"?

People wanted to know how I got to that ludicris speed. I posted the instructions I found instead of having it somewhere in between.

Obviously its for PS2... I don't think it was released for XBox or GameCube.

I've not played this game in ages because I can't stop playing GTA3 at the moment. I finished the standard GTA3 missions a couple days ago but still only 64% of the way throught the game :disgust:

The fastest I got without "cheating" was 300.0 mph. It took me about 2 hours of tweaking the settings to get there though. I'd be interested to know what everyones top speed was without "cheating".

this HAS to be with using the gameshark cheating thing, or whatever it's called. you can't upgrade the R cars without it.

Nope, no gameshark. It's kind of a bug in the game. I've never done it, but IGN had screenshots of it for a while.

In regard to my previous post though, has anybody been able to get over 300.m mph in the Escudo without using this trick? Just curious.

GTA3 has the funniest ending ever (if you can call it that, I don't think this game can possibly be completely won).

I think the trick is to get the Escudo up on it's rear wheels by setting your front downforce to min
and the rear downforce to max... when you do this a bug in the game allows you to drive a near
warp speeds. Another funny bug is that you can actually exit the track at a few places (such as
Seattle or Monaco) and drive around in the air, on top of buildings and even in the water.
