I like the new remap since I can assign brake to down on both analog sticks while I have gas on the right stick. It wasn't possible before, but now I can left foot brake.
Although for GT5 I'll bring out my car seat and steering wheel setup and make a big mess in the living room anyway so all this will be irrelevant by then.

I'm curious, how does the in-car view actually PLAY?

Any time I've ever seen it in a game (PGR4, etc) its been damn near impossible to play with. I dunno about most people, but when I'm driving, my eyes are on the road and I have to actually look down to see the gauges. When you put on such a view in the the games I've played, it was zoomed so far back that the windshield you look out from is a small part of the actual screen, and it was damn near impossible to see the apex of any turn in such a tiny area.

This one certainly looks cool, and it seems like they may have struck a decent enough balance between showing off the car and showing off the road, but I'm curious to hear your thoughts. Would you actually WANT to play it like that? Better yet, is there a setting for how far back your viewpoint is?

Also, how is the first person view? Is it one of those silly bumper cams that is so low to the ground that you cant actually see the turns coming up, or is it high enough off the ground to feel like you're actually looking out onto the road?

Thanks for bringing this up--I'm surprised I forgot to mention this because it's a really great feature. I agree with you when you say that the cockpit views from any other racer has been a novelty at best. But here, it is a real viable option. Yes, it works and works well. The details in the dash, the shifting and even the stitches in the leather gloves--it's all done extremely well.

And no you don't get to decide where your head is relative to the dash so it always feels like you're sitting in the backseat admiring the dash. I think they made some improvement over the demo by putting bigger on-screen display for the speedometer and what-not, but it is still impossible to use.

Interesting. It didnt work for you? I thought it was great.

Well my TV is only a 32inch SDTV. After squashing it to 16:9 mode and viewing through the windshield it would be like trying to play through a 20inch widescreen TV from 6 feet away. I imagine it would be easier if I had a bigger TV.

They need to fix the AI to make them smarter and drop the drivers license section. Its stupid and total waste of time.

Stop with the variations of the skyline and lancer evo. I don't want a billion skylines/evos just so they can claim they needed 50gb of space to do it.

after 4 versions you think they've heard enough complaints and address some of them.

I agree, also I want the AI to spin out if you hit them. Instead of running on rails.
