GT2 didn't have more cars! When they listed the amount of cars for GT2, it equaled to around 400 cars, right? Well, this INCLUDED all the used cars as well. So the total car list, not including used listings, equaled at best a few over the count in GT3. They took out all the stupid cars that nobody even raced with or cared about.

The result is a overall better rounded game in GT3, better graphics or not.

GT3 has a better selection of cars overall, the tracks are designed elegantly, and the car customization is equal to that of GT2.

Someone mentioned not being able to put 'kits' on your car in GT3 like in GT2. This is negligable in the grand scheme of things, as the only thing the kits did in GT2 over what you can do in GT3 is put minimal body modifications on your car (i.e. ground effects and spoilers). The amount of customizations is great.

So to sum up, YES IT IS WORTH IT to plunk down $200 for a PS2 and get this game.

Kind of off the subject but I bought a memory card for my PS2 off of here a few weeks ago. I poped it in along with GT3 and it had like 10 gazillion dollars on it with a crap ton of cars and all the licenses. I really wasnt looking forward to starting all over again anyway🙂

Anyway, I really like GT3 over GT2. The graphics are better, although I like the music off of GT2 better.

And don't think anyone can really describe how long GT3 really is. I'm only 24% done with it and its taken me a while. I'm enjoying it much more then 1 and 2 tho.

No contest, GT3. However I was rather annoyed by the lack of BMW vehicles in the game. Though I am a huge domestic racing fan, I would have really liked to take an M3 or an M5 out for a quick spin in the game. As well as the Ferrari and Lamborguini. Why not have cars from manufacturers that build their entire platforms based on performance? The GT series is one of the best that i have ever played, however I think that better car selection needs to be established. Having 5 nissan skyline versions, having 5 nissan silvia versions, and 10!!! Lancer cars but 1 BMW 328ci??? What a stupid choice to represent BMW. I definatly appreciate a thorough car selection, but come on, lets diversify it a bit.

Triumph, besides the better visuals of GT3, I just have more fun playing it over GT2 IMHO.

I think that EA games has the license to the M5 for use with NFS...other times companies don't like to comply with putting their car in the game, it's a cost thing sometimes.

The only thing better about GT3 is how nice it looks. Other than that GT2 has it beat, mostly because of all the cars you can buy. Going from 500+ cars to about 150 is a big letdown.

Not really. How many of those 400+ (it's not 500+) did you actually use? (I guess you're one of those die-hard fans who I picked the wrong fight with, huh? 😀)

I like the older used cars, plus they give you a much wider range to work with, rather than just a few cars at the beginning.
