Is ?grits? a plural word or a singular word, like rice.

I don't know. But I do know that you don't use an apostrophy for pluralized words like "nazis."

its plural but really has no singular, or is it vice versa? damn!
you have to say a grain of rice. don't know what you'd say for a singular "grit" though.

Actually... ABC's, ABCs it can be either way. Here

I can find about as many references saying it's okay as say not. I like them without the apostrophe. CDs, DVDs, ABCs
