Is a C a good grade by college standards? I know that they classify B's and A's as being above average, I was just wondering if a C is a good or okay grade in college.

I was always under the impression that a C, by its very definition, was average.

That said, it depends on the class and your ability.

C's pretty bad. But if you happen to be majoring in engineering, then you'll still probably be able to get a job.

Yeah i would have to say no as well.

If you think of it in terms of GPA...

people wnat an above 3.0 ...A=4 B=close to 3 usually C=2 D=1

If you got all C's you would have lcose to a 2.0 and thats not really that amazing.

At many universities, a C (2.0) average is the lowest you can have before being put on academic probation.

Just wondering cause I took a test in Psych 201 today and I got a C on it, one person told me that a C was really good becuase the test has been the hardest yet, another person told me that I should shoot for B's I usually don't settle for anything less than a B.

Normally I would say if you're getting a C and can't bring it up drop the class. The exception (from what I hear so it could be wrong) is if you go to MIT.

Grades don't matter.

Tell that to the companys that prefer 3.0+ when they hire

Grades don't matter to me, but I know by the time I'm done with college I'll probably be getting passed on left and right with jobs. I don't really care though.

I can't stand it when people drop classes left and right. They get a few low grades early on so they drop the class like it's burning. It sucks because all the emphasis is on grades so you'd have to be crazy(i.e. me, and that guy above me) not to freak out about them. Although, I do rather enjoy it when after the first test(or deadline for dropping) usually about 20-40% of the class has dropped it. Makes for a more personal learning experience for me.
