Cosidering that I already have my undergrad in CS and solid 3 years of work experience what would you suggest?

MIS will open more doors for me but CS will only solidify what I already have. MIS will also help me finally get in to a managerial position :).

Personally, I'd probably go for MIS. My proffessors are always telling me that grad-level CS is nothing but theory, and theory simply gives me a headache. I'm much better at hands-on type things. I'm in the last couple of classes before I graduate with a CS degree myself, and I've really been struggling in a few of them over the last semester.

I'd second the MBA recommendation, but I'd go for MIS otherwise. What are your ambitions? IMO, much of the failing of many in this industry is lack of business experience, lack of ability to communicate with customers, etc. Any business-related degree you can get would help substantially if you wish to get into consulting. You don't have to go into management to take advantage of business knowledge. On the other hand, if CS if what you are passionate about, then I would go to grad school.

how much can an MBA increase ones salary? Say if they currently make 55K, what would an MBA boost them up to, on average?

it really depends, if you are interested in theory, you can go into theory, but you can do hands-on things as well (robotics, for example). you'll need to know the theory behind what you do for writing papers, but it's not "nothing but theory" necessarily.

If you come from a top 10 B school with your MBA degree, you can double what you make now (at least at the consulting firm I used to work at...).

I would go with the MBA personally. I'm a MIS major now and I think the MIS classes will be too basic for you since you are already a CS major. With the MBA you will be taking general business classes like accounting, economics, finance, etc. You will gain more business knowledge with the MBA the with a masters in MIS.

I just graduated from a liberal arts college with a B.A. in Computer Science. We had grad students in the department but we took the same classes. As far as I know graduate school in computer science is theory, but the theory can be pretty interesting.
