I just tried to use these cloths to dust out the case fans, case exterior, and top of hard drives (silver metal top, not bottom where IC circuit board is), and the bottom of the inside of the case of my computer. A thought just came to mind afterwords that is it safe to use these to dust these things inside my PC. I didn't dust any IC circuit boards although a piece of the cloth could have possibly touched a part when working in a small space inside your PC. I read the back of the Grab-It package and it said it uses an electrostatic charge to attract dust onto the cloths. I really thought Oh My God after that thinking I may have damaged something on my computer after I dusted the top of the hard drives and the edges of the CPU fan. My machine boots up and appears to be running fine, but I have heard that there can be damaged hardware without it being noticed right away and this comes to concern me. Is it likely I have some damaged hardware that I haven't noticed yet? How can I make sure all hardware that could have been damaged by this is working ok to relieve myself. I have heard the term Electrostatic discharge used when it comes to damaging IC circuit boards in computers and the back of the package said electrostatic charge. Is electrostatic charge the opposite of electrostatic discharge? Help greatly appreciated.

In my experience, if a card or mobo gets ESD (electrostatic discharge) it is dead right away. So if all of your cards work, then u are ok. I dont think it has any "long term" affects.

Dont bother with a cloth.Use compreessed air ,available at computer stores, and blast the dust out.If you have a vacuum with attachment ,then suck the dust up as it comes out.
