hmm you know I didn't check the resolution while playing the beta. Native for the 22 is 1920x1080.
so you really have a 21.5 inch monitor. I still haven't figured out why they call all of these new 1920x1080 screens 22 inches in the first place. now the older 22inch 1680x1050 monitors were actually 22inches so go figure.

6950 + safe method of unlocking to 6970 shaders = win.

Tutorial here:

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/316974-33-radeon-6950-shader-unlock-instructions

Then, go into the Catalyst drivers, do a little OC on the clocks (I'm at 880/1325 now), bump the power control to +20%, and enjoy the extra FPS!

Just did it on my Powercolor 2GB 6950 model and it worked like a charm. Make sure the card you get has a bios switch, though.

I appreciate the link, but from what I can tell, the process of doing it, no matter how easy, is not even worth it. There is barely, if any, performance gain from just unlocking the shaders.

Yeah...but that's exactly why I said to add an overclock on top of the shader unlock...then you'll basically have 6970 performance, and then some if you want.

My main concern is voiding the warranty, which is 80% of the reason why I went with XFX over other companies. I might give it a try eventually though if I feel I need an extra bump in performance.

Thanks again!

I did in-fact buy the XFX 6950 2GB that I linked in a previous post. Should be here tomorrow - I am so stoked! Lol
