GPU or monitor

Ok I just built my compute yesterday and so I come home today and turn it on and now the display is all weird and it acts like something is wrong with the GPU..? The monitor, etc, was fine last night. >_<

Ok, so after leaving my computer on and going upstairs for a while, I come back and see that the dots aren't as visible anymore.....( aka its getting better) Now, after using the computer for a while, they disappeared! any explanation?

I haven't seen something like that in all my years' experience of tinkering with PCs...

Looks like some peculiar monitor problem to me but I'm not sure. I'd recommend an RMA.

Yup, is it. I turned off the monitor but left the computer running when I went upstairs and now, when I came back down and turned it on again, it did the same thing!>_< RMA it then???

To do this, I should put the monitor back in the box it came in and send it... where?

Eh I don't know. Personally my LCD had a note that said DO NOT SEND BACK TO NEWEGG, instead send to NEC directly. I'd deal with Acer's replacement dept directly. Safest that way.

Ok, so I suppose I have to pay for shipping the defective monitor to them....?

Not sure...why not check their policies? I've never returned a monitor before by mail.

That is very very weird. Sure it's not some virus or (possessed) driver problem?

I would also confirm that before returning the monitor. Use another GPU/OS or another monitor...

It looks like your computer caught a virus like mumps or measles or something

I've got XP Pro (from someone...)

I'm on the acer support website right now looking for drivers.

EDIT: I found this one driver. I don't know how to install it, I'm not at home right now, and its for xp.....:\......

Ok so newegg gave me prepaid shipping to return the monitor, and then free shipping to give me a new one back. My question is, will they have the same problem I have? I would hate if they said that there was nothing wrong with it, because there definitely has to be something.
