GPU just is having issues. Might be a good time to upgrade.

So normally, I build a new computer every year. But, it was really tough for me to choose a new computer when I moved to Hawaii. Since I am not connected to the grid... The below system has gotten me through the last 4 years. Actually, I think it could have got me though a few more.

Anyway PRICE is no issue... I mean within reason, not gonna spend a over 700 bucks for a GPU.

But, anyway... The only thing that is NOT an issue is TDP, or WATTS. I choose the below system to sip power... I could get a new solar setup, but would rather not... I'm kinda maxed out on the system I have that is 2600 watts.... If I go any higher, I'll need new charge controller, more batteries and higher load for the inverter. Rather not go down that road. Been waiting for battery tech to get better, but anyway...

Long story short, I want to keep the GPU at or about the same watts but could go 50-100 watts higher... without affecting too much I think.

My question is, does AMD or Nvidia make a GPU as power sipping or performance per watt as the 777 card? I could get another 777 card ... one with more memory. I was thinking of going down that road... But thought I'd ask if anyone thinks a better card would work for me.

Normally I'm playing Farcry 3/4 haven't tried primal, probably wait for another version of farcry before that tho. the 777 card seemed to keep up with those games ok. I was kinda amazed that the card could run the games as well as it does. I've been thinking about moving to the city just to get connected to the grid, and buy the latest and greatest gaming rig again. Oh well, maybe one day. I was thinking of scraping the entire system and getting a new MB and latest Intel chip, but the i3 sand bridge is keeping up with everything that I want, so why bother?

Thanks for any help!

RX460 OR 1050tI OC should be an improvement on power as well as capability. From what I have seen, the 460 idles around 13w and peaks around 115w. The 1050TI OC idle app. 7w and peaks app. 83. Of course different memory configs and clocks would cause these to vary some.

A Radeon 7770 has an 80w TDP.

Both the AMD RX460 and Nvidia 1050/1050Ti have TDPs of 75w or less. And all of them are much faster than your current card, while also having more memory.

The 1050Ti is probably the most power efficient card that will fit within your power envelope. A lot of them don't even need external power connectors. Otherwise, the 1050 is faster than the 460, so get that if you don't want to spend the money on a 1050Ti.
