I will be playing games(BF3,AC3,NFS,just cause etc) at 1024*768. I am confused to which GPU should i buy :

1. Radeon HD 6670 1GB GDDR5
http://www.flipkart.com/asus-amd-at...GRYD&ref=f524db9c-a531-449f-b509-2d3bceacd087

2.Radeon HD 7750 2GB GDDR3
http://www.flipkart.com/msi-amd-r77...GVSQ&ref=f524db9c-a531-449f-b509-2d3bceacd087

I have an intel core i3-3210 processor with 4 Gigs of DDR3-1333 RAM.

Do not buy a GDDR3 graphics card. they have half the bandwidth of GDDR5 cards with the same memory bus. the HD 7750 GDDR3 runs around 30 - 40% slower than HD 7750 GDDR5. get this ASUS HD 7750 GDDR5

http://www.flipkart.com/asus-amd-at...-card/p/itmd7hzcp7hsqpzj?pid=GRCDG8RFSZJZAAF3

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/HD_7750/26.html

1024 x 768

HD 6670 - 66
ASUS HD 7750 - 100 (66 x 1.51 = 99.66)

HD 7750 GDDR5 is more than 50% faster than HD 6670 GDDR5. go for it

The 6670 will probably be faster due to the memory.

Can you get a 7750 with GDDR5? That would be better for performance and also less power draw.

One has GDDR3 the other has GDDR5 but I'm not sure it matters for that res. The 7750 has more shader power probably.

Dude seriously upgrade your monitor before anything else.It is a resolution from 10 years ago.

There are GDDR5 versions of the 7750. And at such a low res, it should be able to max out most games out there.

with a HD 7750 for Rs. 1100 more you get 50% more perf . so its your decision. imo the HD 6670 is a old architecture and not worth spending Rs. 6000. and the price/perf is bad.

Ok i will go for the 7750. One more question, will a H61 chipset motherboard support my processor(core i3-3210)? I do not intent to overclock neither do i need USB 3.0 and other stuff.

Wow. 1024x768 is not a lot of pixels.

Let's go Shopping!

Not trying to be a condescending asshole. I tried playing BF3 at 1024x768. Sure, it'll run like butter, but it does put you at a disadvantage. I really recommend upgrading to a better monitor and then get a 7850 or GTX 760.

Yes, with an updated BIOS. Look into pricing for B75 chipset boards. I've seen some that were almost as cheap as the cheapest H61 chipset, and it is a newer chipset.

I'm running 800x600 on my little specialty (retro gaming) rig, so I am getting a kick out of these replies.

A GDDR5 7750 will knock your socks off, OP.

I don't play BF myself, but if you're doing competitive multiplayer, it's a two-pronged issue.

1) Anything like a HUD, text status, or minimap is going to be a fixed or minimum number of pixels, just for readabilities sake. So the smaller res, the more of your FOV is covered by that stuff and the closer together it's crammed.

(Think of the Word 6 Toolbar parodies like this one. Same thing.)

2) Lower res means less fine-grained detail, which is an issue when trying to spot and identify small objects at range.

1024x768? good grief buy a modern widescreen monitor so you can actually see the game as intended. a 6670 is fine for that res since you mentioned you had a strict budget.

Actually, I thought for competitive multiplayer a lower res will be beneficial. Because of the way the mouse is mapped to the pixels, there's more "finite" movements than there would be at higher resolutions (e.g. to move your mouse '1m' in the game, you'd have to only move 10 pixels versus 30 pixels at higher resolutions).

It's debatable whether a low resolution can maybe sometimes be beneficial in multiplayer, but 4:3 aspect ratio is just bad both for single player and multiplayer these days. Pretty much every game since 5+ years ago is designed for optimal viewing either in 16:9 or in as wide a ratio as possible.

Can your display at least do 1280x960 or something? Then you could set your graphics driver and games to get 1280x720 with black bars.

skip all these nonsense replies without any help. unless they want to donate you a new monitor.

based on what you are asking and the options you have given. go with #1 and save 400 rupees. it will be more than plenty for 1024x768.

It really doesnt matter which graphics you go for whether its 6670 or 7750 any and all games will be maxed out on your resolution. However if you upgrade your monitorin the future better to go for sapphire 7750 1gb gddr5.

there are plenty of games that a 6670 cannot "max out" at 1024.

I'm curious, what type of monitor do you have that it can only do 1024x768 resolution? I thought most CRT's can usually do 1280.
