sorry but I dont believe it as again I have tested this on 4 different gpus with various drivers and it did not work in every game.

Rivatuner reporting wrong numbers in 5.2?Could be my selection perhaps as well.Could give Quake 3 Arena a try,also my power target is at 106% if this matters any with target temp at 95c.

Yikes Hawaii doesn't even have a base, it is all "boost".

Yikes indeed! Seems unrelated to OP though.

@OP
Have you tried using Nvidia Inspector to manage P-states? I used it to manage the clocks of my PhysX card when it was needlessly running at P0 even though it was seeing 5%-40% usage. Worked pretty well.

(This link is pretty much top on Google for "disable boost 680" so it may be old news to you.)

Might be less trouble than a bios mod. It has its own downsides though I'm sure.

^ Is worth a look also.

have seen what nvidia inspector can do to disable boost, however prefer a more permanent solution.

need an expert to translate what nvidia inspector does and make those changes in the bios instead.

GPU boost has worked great for me since day 1 with my GTX 680 (overclocked and stock). You sure you don't have another underlying issue?

Did you check out the bios tweaker I linked? I just downloaded a GTX680 4GB bios and had a poke around.

Looks like you can edit P-states and change the boost table. Usual disclaimers though. :thumbsup:

Using the tips in this thread, my card stays at the selected max clock speed while in 3d apps. No BIOS flash needed.
