mio c310x you can get it for $200. I got mine for $150

hackable, so fully customizable. I can run tomtom with it.

Thoughts?

I have the TomTom 510 and it does the job. I haven't had a change to compare it to Garmin, but I have no complaints. I just wanted to mention the Ipod connectivity only works if you buy an adapter. It doesn't just plug in an work. Bluetooth works easily enough, but its not very good as a hands-free set (the mic is really bad).

I really don't know much about these gps things. That mio does look like a nice cheap one to play around with. I wasn't even considering getting one of these any time soon but I might just get this one.

bingo. got mine for $75. I've also run tomtom, as well as iguidance on it, and customized it with skins, and watch my divx movies on it. If you like to tinker it's the best bet.

I know you already got on, but I just got back from a long trip where the car I was in had a Tomtom. Very cool.

I have a TomTom ONE in my car and really like it, its very easy to use and the maps on it are the newest on the market so you should take that into consideration. I've played with the 910 too and it was a great device too - not as thin as the ONE but it has a mp3 player and a few other cool features the ONE doesn't.

I bought a Tomtom One a couple weeks ago and just returned it today. Just like the reviews on it say, the maps suck. Its given me tons of bad directions in my neighborhood, in NYC and in D.C. I can't trust the Tomtom and I'll try a Garmin next.

Really? I'm in Washington DC and the TomTom ONE has never had any map problems for me. I've never taken it to NYC, but I've drive with it quite a bit. I also just put the new map update on it as well and have been nothing but happy with it.
