When I did tech support people would always call and say they had hooked their GPS to their laptop. Anyone here done this? What sorts of GPS's can do this? I am picturing that basically the map and directions output on the laptop's screen so that even if you have a GPS with a crappy b&w display that it looks great on the laptop. Is that how it is in reality?

u hookup a usb antenna to ur laptop. shove the puck shaped thing under ur windshield. turn on lappy, install software and it finds sats and where u are. depending on quality of software, u may have 3d maps, routing, voice recognition, speed altitiude, places of interest, banks, postopffices, fast food, hotels etc etc etc etc etc.

It's extremely cool stuff and I hope to have a setup like that sometime! :) Don't really know much about it right now though.

I would like to get something like this myself. What I would like is one that is at least as good as the Hertz Neverlost one. Anybody know what software is the best to use?
