GPS for Austin, TX?

The fiancé and I are moving to Austin when I graduate because I took a job there. While we were out there we were always lost with the Hertz system. With all of the access roads running parallel we would get on one road and the GPS would say to turn left but there was no left turn! We would look left and the road next to us would have a left hand turn. Part of the problem was we had a horribly old GPS that did not show the name of the street or show them on the GPS. So the question: What GPS does work in downtown Austin? Thanks in advance.

I bought the cheap Tom-Tom and it works in downtown Austin just fine.

I don't see a need for a GPS in Austin, it's an easy city to get around in. The roads are under construction all the time nowadays so I'm sure it's not going to be accurate too. Try using one at the TX-71 & I-35 intersection, it's missing half of it's on ramps still!

Seriously there are 6 things to know about the roads in Austin.

1. I-35
2. Mo-Pac
3. 71/290
4. 183
5. Most of the streets in down town are one way.
6. Airport Blvd no longer goes to the airport.

Bonus for the UT students
7. Speedway is fastest way to get nowhere.

Speedway is faster than Guadalupe if you're trying to get from 45th street to Dean Keaton.
