What I was really looking for when I found the DIY cable.
Memory Upgrade From an 8MB module to whatever you can find/afford in flash modules. More way points for the eTrex, More Maps for me! I got the eMap.

randypj: Yeah, I'm thinking of doing the same. It doesn't seem to be too hard to find a low end P120-133 (I'd kill for a p200 @ $250 or so though, hehe) laptop but a decent price. Especially when you look at the cost of the inverters and all that... I haven't decided either way yet.
