For those who jumped on this deal and get stucked.... Any latest news?? It's been a month after I placed my order, and I din receive anything!! :|

Man..

Ther are a lot of people in the same boat including me.. have been calling them often and finally managed to get through today.. the lady I spoke to - gacve the same stupid reasons but said it would be shipped tomm.. (I had ordered 128 MB PC 100) But I wont believe a thing until I have it in my hands..:frown:

i ordered on april 30th, after about 5 emails, the last of which said my ram would be here last friday (of course it didn't show). i called today, went through some menus, went to customer service, let it ring about 15 times then i got a voicemail box. left a very pissed off message and got a call back within 5 minutes. woman i spoke to said she was sorry it took so long and didn't know why my ram wasn't shipped yet (yea i'm sure), gave me a tracking number and said they'd ship it overnite today and i should have it by tommorow.. sigh hopefully all this bullsh*t from this company ends tommorow and i get my ram.
peace

i called them last week and canceled it. when i called, they said another week. i said hell no. cancel!
then i placed another order with computerbuys2000.com for 2 128mb sdram on thursday and i recieved them today (monday). i had them shipped 2 day via air because it was cheaper than ground!! $46 total. if i were you, ditch gps and order sumwhere else.

I wouldn't buy from GPS Computers ever! I placed an order for a T-Bird through them. After two weeks and numerous promises to deliver it, I was forced to cancel my order. I checked my AMEX card online and 3-4 days after I cancelled the GPS order, they charged me for it anyways :| The only thing I received from them was a $124 charge on my AMEX. I tried to call today but only got their voice mail.

I would not recommend purchasing from this company ever! Their prices are great, but they can't deliver the goods. You will be disappointed if you waste your time and money with these people. It's been a huge aggravation trying to deal with them.

I've sent the same cancelation e-mail 5 times on that
ram, asking for confirmation of credit-back--no word
from them..LOL

Hi guys ordered 2x128 sticks on 5/5 After numerous e-mails that brought false promises I followed the links from my order confirmation notice. It lead to a link http://add.yahoo.com/fast/help/shop/cgi_merchant. I posted my dicust on the form along with the action I was ready to take. I got a response same day frome Yahooshops and Terry at GPS. That was Sat. today I got a tracking number with UPS that says I will have my memory tommorrow. We will see. I don't think I will EVER buy there again though. When I get (if) the RAM I will post what chips are on them.

I called today, she said the memory was still on Backorder and it would ship Mon!
They had my damn money sice the 5th, this is rediculous!

This will be locked soon but I had to put in my input.

AMEX told me they'll back me on this one 😀

GPS can burn in the seven circles of hell for all I care.

I placed my order on April 25th.
Numerous calls and broken promises later...
I cancelled the order on May 9th (2 weeks later)

They charged my card on May 12th

The sad thing is they are located around an hour from me. If they mailed out my merchandise via UPS Ground, I would have it the next day.

I ordered (1) 128 meg on May 4th for $24.50 (cost + shipping). 7 emails, 10 phone calls and lots of frustration later did I finally receive it on May 25th.

Funny thing is that I jumped on the PNY 256 meg Staples deal for $43 INSTEAD (68.95 buy.com PM - $10 in-store coupon - $20 mail-in rebate).

GPS didn't even send an email saying the memory shipped or reply to my refund requests. Only after I called on May 25th to speak with Terry did I get a tracking number and to find out that it had already arrived.

Sad.

I won't be buying from them again.
And if one of their deals is ever mentioned on these boards in the future, I anticipate
a shout-down.

GUYS !

i emailed them 13times and finally canceled my order
got response back from them that they have canceled it but never got credit back from them:|

FINALLY disputed it with credit card company

F^^^^K:| this company they are going to sink,
they have to pay what they have done!!!!

is there a way we can sue them... as a group ??

mass lawsuit??

this place shouldn't even be in business.... they should have expected a lot of orders when they had their prices like that..

what did they think would happen ?

They seriously need to be taught a lesson..

Jeez, chill guys. Anybody running this forum has to know the risk of jumping into a deal like this. The guy had a 1.0 on resellerratings when it started, what did you expect? Bear in mind, no one owes you a great deal. Where do you think the phrase "you snooze, you lose" came from.

And why should he expect to be flooded with orders? Anandtech isn't exactly in the Internet Sellers handbook, if there is one. What if it hadn't been reported on all of the deal sites? What would he do with the extra few thousand memory sticks?

having said that, get your butts out of bed in the morning, call either the 800 number or the regular number within the first hour they're open (when all the rest of the Anandtech'ers are apparently sleeping) and when the voice system starts asking whether your want sales or support, press O for Operator. If you get someone, politely explain that you have an order (and have the order # ready, please) that you need to check the status of. If they can't give you a tracking number, then request that the order be cancelled. Remember, be polite - these guys are swamped and the owner sounds just as frustrated by the problems as you are. Just get your account credited and go frantically chase after the next deal.

P.S. They are also open on Saturday, if you check the hours on their web page.

i had a very bad experience with GPS Computers..those people are a mess...

i ordered a HD from them online and didnt hear from them for two weeks. thereafter, i called them to cancel the order and the guy said he didn't handle cancellations and needed to forward it to some other dept. when i got my amex statement GPS charged my credit card the same day i placed the order even though they did not have it in stock. i then spent 2 additional weeks calling them to find out why i didnt get the credit yet.

i got so fed up i had amex deal with them.....the credit then arrived promptly.

Got mine today. Had originally ordered on May 7, 2001.

Contacted person named Terry, she upgraded the original order from 3 sticks of 128, to 256.

NICE, 😀 🙂 😉

Sometimes patience is a virtue.

Jayd, 😀, 🙂, 😎

I ordered on May 2 and my cc was charged the same day and I'm still waiting. After several e-mail requests for status and no luck with the phone I'm going to call Visa today and cancel the charge. It's bad enough they illegally charge you at the time of order, but then they make it impossible to check on your order.

I wish I would have checked out this company before I ordered.

I sent them 6 email requests and numerous voicemails to find out what's going on. NOTHING. I then sent an email to them cancelling my order and I have put in a dispute with my CC Company.

Still waiting. 😡
